OOTD: Summer Utility

Went out with a couple of friends yesterday to see Step Up 3 (surprisingly deep for a dance movie, I was highly confused, but I'd recommend it) and wore this. Erm, the skirt is not actually as short as it looks:

Top: free, ELLE Magazine
Skirt: £4, Primark
Belt: £10, H&M
Socks: £8, Topshop
Brogues: £20, New Look
Earrings: £3.99, H&M
Ring: £3.99, H&M
Hair slide: £1.50, The Clothes Show
Bag: $37 = about £20, Urban Outfitters

I bought this skirt a couple of years ago to wear to sixth form – we used to have a dress code of smart office-style clothes, and the buttons on the front gave it a lovely smart feel. But yesterday I got so bored of them and took them all off, which means I can belt it and it now feels like a whole new skirt! Plus I have six buttons which I can use to update an old cardigan. Win all round, methinks.

The bag was a definite splash-out for me, but it's easily my favourite bag! The design is unbelievably cute and it's exactly the perfect size to fit my phone, purse, iPod and house key inside. I didn't think to take a photo, but the inside is lined with a gorgeous floral pattern and has a tiny pocket too!

NOTD: Rimmel Green With Envy

Popped into the city today to fix my phone, and somehow ended up in Superdrug buying nail polish ...

But anyway, Rimmel were having a 3 for 2 offer, so I picked three shades from their 60 Seconds Nail Polish line (normally £3.49 each).

Here's the first one, 819 Green With Envy:

I used two coats, along with my usual Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base Coat and Rimmel Pro Super Wear Ultra Shine Topcoat. The colour is really intense and shiny, so I'm thinking it'll look great with a neutral outfit in winter, just to add a splash of colour! I'm really impressed with Rimmel: the brush is the perfect width, the polish goes on very smoothly and the colour is completely even.

I already have a pair of earrings and a Bourjois liquid eyeliner in the same shade, so I'll be wearing those out tonight with my Full Circle jumpsuit. It really shouldn't work, but because my bag, belt and shoes are all light grey, it all sort of balances out somehow ...

I also picked up a deep purple shade and a light grey, not to mention a few eyeshadows, a couple of jumpers, a ring ... and ironically, my phone still has not been fixed! I'm starting to think I've developped some kind of shopping addiction. :S

P.S. Just for the record, I timed each coat and it really does dry in 60 seconds! Absolute magic.
