First my OOTD. It's my Dads birthday and we were also belatedly celebrating my 18th and my parents 25th wedding anniversary so we went out for a family lunch! (rescheduled from April!)

Next up, I had a massive clearout of my room last week in preparation for going to uni! I also turned my cupboard that was previously full of school folders/school related books/prospectuses into..wait for it...a shoe cupboard (with a little space on the top shelf reserved for my harry potter books &GHDs!) The lovely Rachelle of Behind The Shoes asked me to do a little piece about it so here it is!


So here it is! There are 1 or 2 pairs of shoes in each of the boxes with my favourite pairs displayed on top. I think I counted 28 pairs excluding all my sports trainers/shoes and flip-flops (which are on my shoe rack!)

I didn't manage to get a picture before half of them had been demolished! How lush do they look? They taste even better. My 16 year old (but 3 inch taller) sister has started a cupcake business to raise money for her trip to Peru next summer! They're really reasonably priced and look how pretty they are! So if anyone in Norfolk/Suffolk is in need of some cheap cupcakes, let us know!

Muffins & MUA

Sorry for the rubbish post on Saturday – I wasn't really fit to do anything except sleep and drink about a million litres of water! As a result, I've spent most of today making comfort food.

Muffins, anyone?

 

But don't worry, none of those night-time shenanigans again until results day (eeek!), so on to today's post ...

On my travels round the blogosphere, I stumbled across this post by the fabulous Alexandra about Superdrug's Make-Up Academy range. Her swatches looked almost too good to be true, so when I accidentally found myself there on Friday (see this post for a complete lack of an explanation – more like confessions of a shopaholic) I had to pick a couple up!

I went for a gorgeous deep purple, Shade 13 Pearl, and a dark brown, Shade 19 Matt. I've swatched them twice each on my wrist, first with a dry brush and then with a wet brush, so you can see the difference:

 

The purple has the slightest shimmer, which I think would work for both day and night, and it's dark enough to create a great smoky eye. The brown took a lot of building up to get the colour you see in the photo, but the plus side for me is that it's subtle enough to use as contouring powder (which is really hard to find for my skin tone)!

As far as consistency and application go, I've definitely used better shadows, but these have a staying power of about 6 hours over foundation – and with such a wide range of colours all at a ridiculous £1 each, I'll definitely be stocking up on these in the future!

A busy afternoon.

Heya!

Had a very busy afternoon today! My little sister and I were in charge on dinner so we cooked about 10 different tapas style dishes (although we ended up with rather massive portions). There was easily enough to feed 8 people so there are quite a few leftover (there are only 4 of us in my family!) We all felt so fat afterwards we decided to go for a bike ride (to the pub!) So here's what I wore...

Been trying out some different make-up looks from the Vogue make-upbook in an attempt to be actually able to do make-up! I think I'm getting better. Will be a long time till I have the skills of Sanchia! (check out the amazing smokey eye below!) 

That's all for now! I'm going to try and have an early night. Just looked through my diary and the last time I got to bed before 11.30pm was nearly a month ago! I need my sleep!
