OOTD: WWLBD?

... where WWLBD stands, of course, for "what would Luella Bartley do?" I think I'm going to start quoting that when people ask me how I'd describe my style.

Hairband: British Heart Foundation charity shop; Earrings: Aldo (New York); Ring: ASOS

T-shirt, belt: Primark

Skirt: Century 21 (New York); Necklaces: Superdrug & BHS

Tights: mytights.com; Bag: Urban Outfitters (New York)

Off to my friend Ani's house for a girly sleepover complete with face masks and manicures! I've known Ani for about 6 years now plus we were on the Head Girl team at our old school, so we're in about a million photos together; the only problem is that she has such fantastic natural style that I always look so shabby standing next to her! I think I have her to thank for actually starting to care about what I wear ...

OOTD: Summer Utility

Went out with a couple of friends yesterday to see Step Up 3 (surprisingly deep for a dance movie, I was highly confused, but I'd recommend it) and wore this. Erm, the skirt is not actually as short as it looks:

Top: free, ELLE Magazine
Skirt: £4, Primark
Belt: £10, H&M
Socks: £8, Topshop
Brogues: £20, New Look
Earrings: £3.99, H&M
Ring: £3.99, H&M
Hair slide: £1.50, The Clothes Show
Bag: $37 = about £20, Urban Outfitters

I bought this skirt a couple of years ago to wear to sixth form – we used to have a dress code of smart office-style clothes, and the buttons on the front gave it a lovely smart feel. But yesterday I got so bored of them and took them all off, which means I can belt it and it now feels like a whole new skirt! Plus I have six buttons which I can use to update an old cardigan. Win all round, methinks.

The bag was a definite splash-out for me, but it's easily my favourite bag! The design is unbelievably cute and it's exactly the perfect size to fit my phone, purse, iPod and house key inside. I didn't think to take a photo, but the inside is lined with a gorgeous floral pattern and has a tiny pocket too!

A Trip to H&M (and an OOTD!)

Heya!

On thursday morning I got up bright and early for a quick trip to H&M to try and find the beautiful leopard print wedges that Saskia of Not Just Medical featured on her blog (A lovely blog! Have a look!). However they didn't have them and according to the shop assistant have never had them in and probably never will. Great. I was about to leave when I spotted this lovely bag on a shelf. I'd also seen it on NJM here and as soon as I saw it, I understood why she'd also fallen in love.

Some of you may have read my trend focus on pouch bags (here!) and this was a perfect low budget buy. It's a lovely khaki green colour, which tan faux-leather at the top and bottom and a thick camel colours rope and adjustable strap. Despite looking fairly small, it's actually massive inside. I can easily fit a bottle of water/purse/camera/notebook/phone in it. Will be great from sightseeing in Nepal (as it does up really tightly) and also for festivals next year! Plus, it was a snip at £9.99!

So much space!
It can be short...
...or long!

My OOTD (yesterday!) and another way to style a breton tee!

Coral crop top - Topshop £7
Breton tee - River Island £5
Navy skirt - ASOS £12
Deck shoes - Topshop £25
Belt - Vintage @ Urban Outfitters

So, I'm still slightly depressed at not being able to find the shoes, but buying this bag definately improved my mood! (If anyone knows anywhere that still has the shoes in stock (size 5) let me know!)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

AW 10/11 Trend Focus: Pouch Bags

They've been spotted on the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Alexandra Richards and Fearne Cotton recently. Pouch bags are one of the hottest bag trends this AW. They're the perfect bag for festivals, but you can also get more formal and embelished versions for going out!
Coral pouch/duffle bag from ASOS.com £25

Red ASOS pouch bag £25

Beige embelished bag, Miss Selfridge £28

And finally this amazing Temperley London Zebra Print Bag £345

Do you have a pouch bag? Will you be buying one? I'm definately going to have to invest in one!
